A Long Time Coming

It has been a long time since I have last posted and so much has happened!

On Valentines day (2/14/09) I felt the baby move for the first time!! I was so excited. I was laying down and actually saw him move while I felt him...it was so cool. He wasn't moving very often, so it took Bobby a while to feel him.

I keep referring to "him"...that's right...it's a boy! On March 5, 2009, we found out that we are having a little boy...Thomas Rex Lindsey... and we couldn't be more excited! My mom and dad came up for the ultrasound and it was so great to have them there. As the nurse pointed out that it was a boy you hear Bobby just go..."YESSS"!! He REALLY wanted a boy. He has already stolen my heart.

I have already put together the "nursery". I put it in ""s because it is a small sunroom that we are converting into his nursery. We have a crib, changing table, and dresser. We still have a few things to register for, but we will get it all in time.

Rex has been moving around a whole lot and I have grown a whole lot. I have finally made it over my original weigh in by about 4lbs and my belly is 25". As I type this, I am 25.5 weeks right now. Rex will be here before we know it!

Update

I took my final test today with the Cardiologist and met with the doctor afterward. The Dr. told us that my heart looked fine and he doesn't see any problems. He said that my dizziness is normal for me and this pregnancy. I was relieved to hear that there was nothing wrong with my heart, but a little upset that I don't have a reason for my dizziness. I still don't believe that it is "normal".

Thank you, everyone for your prayers! God does keep us safe and in His hands at all times!

Dizziness

Over the past few weeks/months, I have had a problem with dizziness. I have a tendency to get dizzy/lightheaded doing various things with no rhyme or reason. I could be walking around the grocery store or sitting on the couch and I sometimes get the feeling that I am going to pass out. I have read up on pregnancy and dizziness and found that it was pretty common. I was still feeling uncomfortable with the fact that I was getting so dizzy so frequently. I finally said something to my OB on Friday when I went for a routine check up. The Dr talked to for a little bit and said that if I were 26 weeks (I'm 16 weeks) then he wouldn't be "as concerned". He referred me to a cardiologist.
Today, I went to the cardiologist. Today they did and EKG and blood work. On Thursday, I will have to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours. Tuesday, the 17th, I will have an Echo cardiogram done. On Thursday, the 19th, I will have a treadmill test. After all of this, I hope to know something. The Cardiologist didn't want to come to any conclusions until after all of these tests. After the treadmill test, we will sit down with him and go over everything at once and see what he determines.
So, after all of this, I won't know something until the 19th at the earliest. At this point in time, I am having to lean completely on God. I am constantly struggling with giving up my worry to Him. It is so hard to do, but I MUST.
The OB said on Friday that everything sounds healthy with the baby. We get to find out what it is March 5th (I can't wait!!!)!!! I'm so ready to know what we are having!

Thanks for reading this and I would appreciate any and all prayers!

Past few months

It has been a while since I have posted. Since we have found out that we are having a baby, we have been to the Dr a few times and have experienced some amazing things.

On January 2, we heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time. That was the most amazing sound that I have ever heard! As the Dr found the heartbeat, I looked over at Bobby and he had the biggest smile on his face. I think that was when everything started to come real for him. From that moment on, his attitude has completely changed! He has become more aware of what I am feeling, what I am eating, and just my overall well being. He doesn't shy away from talking about the baby any more and he even rubs my belly from time to time!

I am almost finished reading a book called "When Two Become Three". This is a really good book that brings up many questions and concerns that happen with/to new parents. I would recommend this book to new/expecting parents.

I am also starting a new job soon...hopefully...assuming that I pass the physical that I took today. I am really excited that I have found a new position! It is close to home and they know that I am pregnant!

God is really doing amazing things in my life right now! I can't wait to see what He has in store for us.

"YES +"

Sometimes, you hope and hope and hope for that day to come. The day when you find out that you are going to be a parent. I found out this morning that I am pregnant (according to a home pregnancy test). My first Drs appointment will be Nov 25 and I will find out for sure.
I am really excited, really nervous and really scared. Questions start to form like "Am I ready for this?" "Will I be a good mom?". I don't know the answers...all I know is that because I believe in the Almighty God and trust Him in all that I do, then I am not alone and He will guide me as I attempt to do this.
I first suspected that I was pregnant yesterday, Nov 17. I was praying in the morning and subconsciously I started praying for my health and the health of the baby inside of me. I then realized what I had prayed and realized that I had prayed the same thing on Sunday morning in church. I was a little nervous and began to feel a little nauseas all day. I tried to wave it off as a figment of my imagination. All through the night, I dreamed about babies. I don't recall the exact dreams, just that they were about babies. First thing when I got up was take a pregnancy test. I waited just a few minutes and they answer appeared "Yes +". I started shaking and not knowing what to think or feel. I ran into the kitchen thinking Bobby was still home, and he wasn't. He didn't know what I was doing or that I was up. I called him to see if he was still downstairs, and he wasn't, he was already gone. Of course he had to know what I wanted, so I told him...I wish that I could have seen his face when I told him, but I couldn't. I know that he is shocked and scared and excited too.
This is the beginning of something new for us. We would appreciate all of your prayers as we attempt to do this. It will be interesting and fun. I can't wait to see what God has in store.
